SOME KITES NEVER LEAVE THE GROUND, BUT THEY STILL SOAR

THE STORY

Some dreams don't get the chance to take flight. Some little ones never take their first breath. But the love you carried for them is still here—still real, still meaningful, and forever a part of you.

This piece honours the dreams, hopes, and lives that were imagined but never held. It is a reminder that love does not disappear when a journey ends before it begins. Some forms of love simply remain with us, carried quietly through every chapter that follows.

SYMBOLISM

The Kites — Represent the dreams, hopes, and lives we imagined.
The Empty Kite — Represented only by its ribbon, symbolizing a love that never got the chance to arrive.
The Ribbons — Symbolize the love that continues, even in the absence of what we hoped for.
The Sky — Represents freedom, peace, and the possibility that exists beyond what we can see.
The Meadow — Symbolizes the beauty, memories, and love that remain.

The story

A place that
feels like home.

This piece captures the feeling of returning — to a place, to a memory, to yourself. It’s about the quiet joy of sunlight, sea and the people who make life feel full.

Every brushstroke was made slowly, in the late afternoon light, as a way of holding on to a moment worth remembering. It is a piece for the walls of a home where stories are shared.

The art

The warm light, coastal view and textured brushstrokes create a sense of calm and belonging. It’s a celebration of simple moments and the beauty in everyday life.
